If you need assistance fixing a dam, decommissioning a pond or lake, or responding to a letter from your state’s dam safety office, we can help.
The dam design process generally includes 4 phases:
Inspection, Planning, & Cost Estimate
Inspect the dam, review any documentation, and work with you to prepare preliminary design requirements and initial plans, including our best estimate for construction costs.
Design & Permitting
Flood routing, watershed modeling, and downstream hazards inform the design specifications of the solution. We'll draft up final plans and walk them through the permitting process with your state's dam safety office and environmental protection agencies.
Construction Bidding
Request proposals from several construction companies to get the best value on construction costs and timeline. Over the past 20 years, we've developed deep relationships with contractors we trust and can recommend.
Observation & As-Built Plan Submission
Observe construction to make sure it meets design standards and conduct testing on materials as needed (e.g. concrete, soil compaction). Once construction is complete, we'll submit as-built plans and emergency action documentation to the state dam safety office.
